When you think of some of the hottest hunting regions in the United States, the state of New Jersey might not be the first name to pop into your head. But the fact of the matter is that New Jersey offers excellent hunting opportunities across the state and into neighboring states as well.
Whitetail deer is the most prevalent big game available in New Jersey and hunters have captured trophy whitetail deer for years as they have traversed the surprisingly beautiful New Jersey landscape. Whether hunting on your own or with a guide, there are great times to be had when hunting in New Jersey and its neighboring states.
Still, guided hunts are highly recommended for many different reasons. But knowing which guide is the one for you is something to consider. Here are 10 of the best guides available in New Jersey.
Falling Leaf Outfitters is based out of Pemberton, New Jersey and has properties that are located in the farm-belt of Burlington County, New Jersey. They have been expanding their properties for years, hoping to provide the very best hunting opportunities in the region.
Falling Leaf offers whitetail deer hunts, turkey hunts, and coyote hunts to members as well as guided hunts for experienced and novice hunters alike. They manage over 850 acres of leased and owned property as well as over 80 ground blinds, steel ladder stands, and portal stand blinds.
Each season, 50-60 hunters are provided seasonal deer hunting memberships and each of the hunts is fully guided throughout the deer hunting season. Because of the vast amount of land available to them, Falling Leaf has customized planted sorghum strips and natural corn, hedgerows, meadows, natural ponds, and small wood lots to enhance your overall hunting experience.
They even offer a New Jersey Hunting Club membership which is open to turkey, deer, and predator hunting and is definitely not limited to New Jersey residents; they host members from all across the United States and abroad. Some of the rewards include comfortable amenities, generous bag limits, rotating location closures to remove pressure from the herds, pre-scouted hunt locations, and handicapped hunting access so that anyone who wants to hunt can do so.
It is highly recommended that bow hunters and rifle hunters be prepared. Bring things like waterproof clothes, rubber boots, orange vest, seat cushion, rattling bag, and whatever else you might need to make your hunt as successful as it possibly can be.
Falling Leaf provides some of the finest hunting opportunities this side of the Mississippi and you will thoroughly enjoy your stay.
Mountain Trail Whitetails has a huge deer preserve that is located in the highlands region of northwest New Jersey, part of scenic Warren County. There is an area of 100 acres of mixed hardwoods and even a few acres of pasture. That means that this is a very demanding terrain but one that will give you every opportunity to nab the trophy buck that you have been searching for.
For 20 years, Mountain Trail Whitetails has been providing and managing trophy whitetail deer and have an excellent herd of bucks on the property. Because of the way that these bucks are allowed to mature and grow, there are many that will score over 200 inches with Pope & Young Status.
During your stay, you will be the only hunter in the preserve and you may choose from one of several ladder stands or ground blinds that are located throughout the property. Or, if you prefer, you may even bring your own stand. If the conditions are right, hunters can see anywhere from 10-15 bucks per day, offering more than enough opportunities for you to get that special trophy buck.
The accommodations are also beautifully rustic, with newly furnished wood everything in our cabins. There is a main sitting area, a dining room, modern appliances, and even an upstairs loft for extra relaxing or sleeping space.
There are a variety of hunts to choose from, up to four hunters in a hunting camp and the season begins in September, ending in January. Mountain Trail Whitetails provides opportunities for some of the finest trophy bucks that you will ever see and you will leave our grounds feeling energized and happy, especially with a trophy buck coming back home with you.
